Some of the reports I have seen look like they have been done with a word processor template with a fill in the gaps technique. i.e. the reports all tend to look the same. Also some of the reports seem to bear no relation to reality. One local school, well known for poor behaviour, had no mention of this in the report. Did the inspectors wear rose tinted glasses?
Ascoile, I agree with your comment. As a school govenor I realise the ” cat is not let out of the bag ” for OFSTED. Sean, I agree with you too but I think spending ten minutes, let alone a day, in a school will tell anyone a lot about a school. Just be in corridors at breaktime!

I just wish parents would realise that these reports are not that great and do not show the full picture. A key factor to ensure a good report is make sure the Headteacher has good public relations skills!
