Word Processor Open Office

How do I open a file in Microsoft Office word?

Well i have a saved file thats from a different program( Microsoft Word Processor) and the file is saved as .wps
how can I open this up on Microsoft Office Word??
do i simply save the file as .doc instead of .wps and is so does it have to be done manually

That’s from Microsoft WORKS Word Processor. You should be able to open it in Word this way:

In versions of Word prior to Word 2007:

1. Click the File->Open menu item.
2. In the Files of Type list box, select the item for Works Word Processor (*.wps) files.
3. Navigate to the file and select it.
4. Click Open if needed.

In Word 2007:

1. Press CTRL/O.
2. In the list box above the OK and Cancel buttons, find and select the item for Works 6.0-9.0 (*.wps)
3. Navigate to the file and select it.
4. Click Open if needed.
