I am about to purchase a new TV and I am looking to spend approx 800-1000$. So obviously I was looking at LED/LCD/PLASMA. However, there is a great deal on a 3D Plasma TV where I live. The only catch is that it’s a 720p. Is this a good time to pounce on this offer considering that in 5 years or so 3D technology will change yet again?

Also, I use my TV mainly to watch regular TV shows, hockey and football. I rarely watch movies, and rarely play video games. Would this be a good buy for me?

1080p LED’s are about the same price as a 720p 3D of the same size screen.

Also, my TV is 8 feet away from my couch. i’m looking at the Samsung 50″ 720p 600Hz 3D Plasma HDTV
