what are the basic elements for RPG physics?
Looking for the rules of pokemon physics, I use to know a couple of sites that had all the rules and all the curves, and all complicating stuff that I never knew went into the game, but I am interested in learning some of the elements that went into it. Can you help me find a site that has the rules of a game boy or nintendo ds pokemon game. I am not interested in the trading card gameplay I want to know how RPG’s work. Also I am actually making a platformer RPG and I am having a hard time figuring out how to make the leveling curves… and damage reductions and all that. Any help would be amazing. Thanks! An example of the game I am making is something like Super Paper Mario.. it just doesnt have the 3D aspect to it. Here is a preview. I will accept ideas as well..

well in advance wars(not really a rpg but a war game) it has some weird formula like damage = base damage x hp x 1.5 / defenders hp
in levelling in pokemon, i think that there is a base, like to go to lvl 4 you need 300 exp , then 400 then so on
the exp gained is based on the enemies level, and not yours
