Anybody out there use Autodem?

I have a topo map of some rural property that I want to turn into a 3D model to be used for planning potential future structures. Someone pointed me to Autodem. The interface looks well done and I can tell the 3D viewer will be wonderful if I can get the topographical features right. However, I can’t for the life of me seem to figure out how to get my 2D raster image to become a nice 3D model.
